An incident occurred a while ago that I would like to speak about here. However, there are certain things that I do believe are not constructive to write about directly, due to the sensitive subject matter, people involved, and proven fact that a balanced discussion is sometimes difficult. 10.38 We Made a Book

Here’s the thing, I’m terrible at telling people about things. Sure, I post blogs almost every week and send them into the ether, I’m working away and putting stuff out all the time, and I really have a blast doing it. Maybe that’s the problem? I’m having way too much fun doing the work, that I forget to actually tell about stuff. Like, actually getting stuff out there with actual marketing and so on. Which is kind of funny since I’ve somewhat worked tangentially in that area. Let’s just say I’m comfortable and know what to do with other people’s stories, but my own? I just assume people know without me having to tell them.

10.36 Writing to Music

I never realized until working on a third book how important music is to me when I write something long and involved. This time around, I noticed that I seem to lock into one artist and just play them on repeat when I’m getting towards the end of the book. Sometimes it was just the rhythm of the music, and sometimes it was the themes behind the lyrics.
