A few weeks ago, I stepped into a bank, you know, to do some banking. At the teller’s station, she looked at me and started processing what I needed to get done. She stopped halfway through and said, “I’m really sorry, but I just have to say, you have incredible eyes. I’ve not seen eyes like yours, and I just wanted to tell you that.” I was a little taken aback - I can count on my one hand the amount of times strangers have said something (positive) about my appearance.
Read MoreLast weekend, I met up with a friend to have a beer. The bouncer at the front door of the bar asked for ID. Now, I’m pretty sure that he was more concerned about my younger friend and just asked me to be nice. Still, that doesn’t matter because I hadn’t been ID’ed in years.
The following day, I went to the liquor store to pick up some beers for our Stories We Don’t Tell event. At the checkout, the cashier said with gusto, “Oh, that’s my dad’s favourite beer!”
So, you win some and you lose some.

I would say they should write books all day everyday, but then again, there’s no need to spend time in this way because it’s so easy. Really, all you’re doing is stringing a bunch of words together to form sentences and paragraphs and chapters. What’s so difficult about that?
