10.49 December Dispatches!
I send out a newsletter every month with information about what I’m up to. It’s fun and short and I’d like to try and interest more people to join. For the next few months, I’m going to post what I wrote in the newsletter the week after it’s sent out. You can have a look and see if this is something you might want to appear in your inbox every month. Scroll to the bottom to sign up.
IT’S BREAK TIME!
At this time of the year, I usually make the joke - this is my last [post, blog, episode, show, etc.] of the year. The joke being that the next thing will probably be coming up in the next few weeks after the holiday season. I just enjoy people perhaps thinking about how it might be a long time before they hear from me again, only to be inundated with all sorts of stuff pretty much right away. Anyway, it’s hilarious to me and never gets old.
That all being said, I’m taking a break with this newsletter stuff for the foreseeable future. I’m shaking things up a big, making bold decisions, all the cliches. It’s been a fun run, and I’d like to take this opportunity to provide a preview of what’s to come before the lights on this are permanently cut off.
After a bit of a hiatus, I’ve been putting together a new season of the Storytime Podcast. Subscribe to that podcast on Apple, Google Play, or Spotify for the coming updates. There’s a bonus episode up right now, which will provide a bit of info about the story for this season. It’s been pretty fun and revolves around an old found cassette tape that has recordings on it from someone describing experiences of living through World War 2. So, the season will be one story, using these recordings as a basis.
It’s nice to reflect back on the year, and see what’s been accomplished. After five years, I feel like it’s safe to say that Stories We Don’t Tell has had its biggest year to date. We started doing workshops, we produced our 50th show, and of course, we’ve published our first book. We closed out the year a couple of weeks ago, and look forward to hitting the stage again at the end of January. There’s a lot of things to hear, see, and engage in with Stories We Don’t Tell - subscribe to our podcast, get a copy of the book, come to a show. We’re always up to something new and interesting.
My goal with the blog was to write one a week for an entire year. So far, so good. I don’t want to jinx it now with only a couple of weeks to go, but I feel pretty confident about it. But also, I think it’s time to just take a break on that as well. Because, of course, I’ve got another book coming out in the new year. The manuscript is all completed and I’m just editing and setting up all the design elements. It’s a bit different from the others, but I am very excited about getting it out there.
Do all the social media stuff, I’m out there. You can do that up below. I might resurrect this thing at some point, but for now, thank you for checking out all this random stuff I’m putting out there. I appreciate your support.
You’re the best.
Paul
