2.1 Extreme Makeover: Website Edition

TORONTO, ONTARIO: In the restaurant business, they say that in order to remain competitive, renovations should be undertaken every year. I have applied this philosophy to my website. The basic design layout was getting a bit tiring anyways. And what was with the windmill? So, with a new year comes a new design. Simple, sleek, modern – whatever that means. This design was achieved after some frustrated attempts to make what surrounded the words flashier. I am obviously a fan of the simplicity of McSweeney's. Besides, nothing is flashier than a few well-chosen words strung together. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but a thousand words is worth…don’t know where I was going with that.

I like to check in every once in a while and grade myself. However, similar to most writers, I am not a worthy judge of my own work. I will just assume that everything is going well. Assumptions are usually not a good thing, but in the self-interest of my own insecurities, we’ll go with it this time.

New stuff we need to go over:

APPS: The blog is available to view in an easy-to-read format for your iPhone. Search the address www.pauldore.com and your browser will turn the blog into an app. Through similar methods, my entries are also now available on your iPad. I am an Apple person and I make no apologies for it.

WRITING: I’ll continue with the assumption that people are enjoying at least some of these posts. I’m interested in writing more long form articles, so look for more in-depth topics of interest. I am getting close to finishing the book, so I’ll provide updates in the next few months about any progress.

TWITTER: You can follow me on Twitter for updates. I have been tweeting for a while but still don't know what I'm doing. Click HERE to follow.

Thanks for visiting.
